Each year, all K12 schools arrange structured training to address school selected targeted areas, where opportunity for growth presents itself as demonstrated by observation evidence from the previous school year’s data. Each school chooses 4 topics that they would like to focus on. This year, DAOF will be focusing on Teacher Connections, Classroom Environment, Professional Interactions and Learning Experiences. As you complete this training, think about ways that you can bring what you’ve learned into your daily practice.
The specific bundle will take approximately 4 hours and you have until November 21 to complete. A brief overview of the individual components is shared below:
- Classroom Culture series – there are four courses in this series that are no more than 30 minutes each. You will move through purpose, passion, presence, and positivity in short bursts to help you set and maintain the right classroom culture for your students.
- Targeted instruction 101 – this hour-long course is an introduction to targeted instruction and intentional sequencing of instruction and rigor to encourage deeper learner. This is a “basic” approach and you could learn more by taking Targeted Instruction 102.
- The C.H.A.I.R. Method: Self Leadership – the focus of this 30 minute course is on teachers and leaders themselves. Educators primarily pour into others; however, we need to ensure that we are full ourselves. You will learn a framework and principles that can make a difference for your personal and professional growth.
