Deals & Discounts for Teacher Appreciation Week

May 8 – 12 is recognized as national Teacher Appreciation Week, and teachers have worked so hard this year.  To help, the Stride Professional Development Center has researched the best deals, discounts, and freebies and included them in this blog post.  We hope this collection is a benefit for teachers and that these deals bring some hard-earned cheer during this special week.

The list below is, by no means, exhaustive but tries to focus on national chains or retailers. Our hope is to cast the widest net possible for you and all deals, unless otherwise noted, are for May 8 through 12.

Note that each local area may be offering slightly different discounts and always have that school ID handy. If you are at a restaurant or business not on the list, it never hurts to ask if they are doing something for Teacher Appreciation Week (TAW).

FOOD

Sonic – every teacher can get a free cheeseburger from this food chain, but you must first enroll in the Sonic Teachers’ Circle. It appears this offer is a one-time use.

Applebee’s – this offer is truly localized so you will need to do a little investigation. Teachers could receive a free appetizer or free entrée up to a $14 value. Again, that teacher ID is needed.

Bruegger’s Bagels – you can have 20% off of an e-gift card if you order it here.

Freddy’s – if you want a free mini sundae that has M&Ms, find a location, order, and show your ID.

Whataburger – this offer is a special breakfast from 5am to 9am only during the week. Teachers get a free breakfast entrée.

Starbucks – get 10% off with your school ID.

Firehouse Subs – a free medium sub sandwich with the purchase of any medium or large sub, chips, and drink. The great part of this deal is that ANY medium sub is eligible!

Barnes & Noble – why is this not in the product section? Here’s why – they are offering a free tall hot or iced coffee for teachers.

Perkins Restaurant – teachers can get a 20% off meals and it can be used multiple times during the week. BUT, there is a slight catch – you must join their restaurant e-club and need to do that before May 8.

McAlister’s Deli – through May 10, teachers can get a free 32 ounce tea with a school ID.

PRODUCTS

Stride PD Center – every teacher can claim 6 months of professional development FREE. Also, with the gift card we provide, you can share with a friend and colleague as well.  Find out all the great details – along with something special for brand-new teachers – by going to our TAW page

Apple – this is another discount that is ongoing too but appears to apply ONLY to in-store purchases. Teachers can get special pricing on computers and iPads. Simply, show that ID and be sure to ask for the special teacher discount.

Samsung – they have a similar offer to Apple in that teachers can receive a special education discount all year.

Cole Haan – they are offering a “study break” of 20% off online orders only. You must use a valid school email address, and to learn more, go here.

Staples – if you enroll in their Classroom Rewards program, then you will get a free $5 gift card.

Great Wolf Lodge – teachers can get up to 40% off reservations IF they are made between May 8 to 14! You will want to use the code TEACHER at checkout and the stay must be used by August 21.

In closing, we hope this list is helpful for you to find a few deals. Thank you for choosing to be a teacher. Thank you for investing in students every day. And, most importantly, thank you for being a difference maker for the future.
