Want to discover how to make math more accessible and engaging for all students?
The Numeracy Foundations courses, part of the Innovative Educator series, will guide you in building a strong culture of numeracy by exploring the impact of personal math perspectives, applying inquiry-based modeling strategies, and using effective instructional techniques that help students think like mathematicians.
The four courses in this series can be taken in any order:
- Understanding Numeracy
- Numeracy and Math Instruction
- Supporting Instruction
- Promoting a Culture of Numeracy
Numeracy Foundations: Supporting Instruction
In this third course, Amy Hollis and Daniel Goodwin guide learners through an exploration of instructional supports, including strategies to reduce cognitive load on students, the role of Professional Learning Communities, and how the K12 math curriculum can enhance numeracy instruction, with curriculum expert Megan Simmons as a special guest.
