SERIES: Stride Career Prep Counselors and Quarterly Student Conferencing
As a Stride Career Prep school counselor, how can I impact the success of new students?
Counselors play a key role in ensuring their students are set up for success. Stride Career Prep Counselors will be led through content and a series of activities to ensure they are ready to support and effectively communicate with students throughout the school year. This series of units will provide an opportunity to explore topics that are appropriate for conversations between counselors and families at the beginning as well as quarters one through four of a school year, reflect, and ensure that Stride Career Prep students are career-ready and career-focused.
This is the first unit in the series. This training will walk Stride Career Prep Counselors through the best ways to welcome new students and learning coaches as they:
- Develop an understanding of your Stride Career Prep program
- Understand courses offered and opportunities of your Stride Career Prep program
- Understand credits and graduation requirements
- Determine the student’s best career and pathway fit
- Understand the grad plan tool
