Five-Part Grading Calibration Series
This series will teach you what calibration is and give you direct feedback as you align your rubric scoring with that of experts in three major ELA categories - literary analysis, research papers, and middle school writing.
How is this accomplished?
This introduction is a video-heavy format that takes the learner on a journey to prepare you for the actual calibration practice. You will learn the differences between norming and calibration, how to use rubrics for all students, and understand the positive outcomes for students.

Course Description
Attention! Subjectively grading essays is a dilemma for every teacher, especially when grading essays. How can you grade your students' papers more consistently to better support them? Simply, you need to calibrate your grading.
This first of five courses in the Grading Calibration series will provide you with foundational knowledge about what calibration is, why it is important, and how it works.

Meet the instructor
Belinda Lindeburgh
Belinda Lindeburgh is an English Content Specialist at Stride, where she used her experience to create a training that coaches teachers through grading calibration. Having taught English for over 25 years, Belinda has also been working with content at Stride for the last seven years. She brings extensive knowledge of grading calibration in grade levels ranging from middle school to Advanced Placement.
